ENGL 1101-Introduction to Composition
This is a course designed to improve critical writing skills, as well as honing critical reading skills. Through critical reading, analysis, and, most of all, through writing, students will develop their writing and critical thinking skills. This writing-intensive course focuses on introducing students to college discourse, while emphasizing the importance of writing at a college level.

ENGL 1102-Advanced Composition
This course seeks to extend and expand writing skills gained from ENGL 1101. While ENGL 1101 explores many different types of writing, mostly non-fiction, ENGL 1102 will ask students to analyze a variety of writing, particularly creative non-fiction, short fiction and a novel. Using these guided writing prompts, students will be able to expand their ability to argue, analyze, and evaluate other texts.

ENGL 2112-British Literature from Romanticism to Modernism

In this class students will read canonical works of British literature (poetry, essays, short-stories and novels). This course is designed to foster in the student some knowledge and appreciation of British literature and culture from the Romantic movement through the present.
