2010-2011 High Five Award Nominees
Week Ending April 15, 2011 Anthony Fitzgerald
Mr. Fitzgerald has been nominated by
Dr. James Galt-Brown
who wrote:
"I wish to formally recommend Professor Anthony
Fitzgerald for a 'High Five' Award, for his apprehension of a book thief in
Bowen Hall on 11 April, 2011. His conduct was above and beyond the call of
duty for a college professor, and he stopped a crime before it could be
successfully committed. I am proud and honored to have a man of such such
sterling character and personal courage associated with this college.
Week Ending March 18, 2011 Shirley Wilson
Shirley Wilson has been nominated for a High Five Award by Nancy Anthony. Nancy writes, "Shirley is always willing to help with any activity that is happening at ABAC. She has been the chair of Staff Forum refreshment committee, and without fail, makes certain that we have a full table, even if she has to make several items herself. She is always helping ABAC to present a positive face through our Athletics Department. She works daily to show a positive customer friendly attitude to those coming onto our campus. For her positive attitude and her team spirit I nominate Shirley Wilson for the High Five Award.
Week Ending February 18, 2011 Business Office Staff
The Business Office Staff was nominated by Deidra Jackson: "I would like to nominate the Business Office Staff for the High Five Award. This includes Diane Owens, Patsy Hembree, Donna King, Joy Lott, Brenda Bailey, Ann Olphie, Debbie McComas, Teri Mathis, and Robbie Hawsey. The Business Office has worked extremely hard over the past year to prepare for the FY10 Annual Audit. In early January, the College received good news concerning the outcome of the FY10 Annual Audit. If it wasn’t for the hard work and dedication of each individual, this successful outcome would not have been possible. Thank you for never giving up day in and day out. Thank you for working together as a team. Thank you for all of the extra long hours that have been worked. Thank you for overcoming the obstacles that have been placed in your paths. Thank you!
"Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success. Henry Ford"
Week Ending August 19, 2010 Caren Gladin
Caren Gladin, Enrollment Services. Caren was nominated by Michelle Barton.
"During the last two or three orientations Caren spent most of the day volunteering in the main Enrollment Services office, helping students and parents. On August 16, the first day of classes, Caren put forth extra effort to help a student and his mom with his financial aid and his Gold Card which was blocked by a download problem. She arranged to get him a temporary card so he could move in before his Mom had to leave, making it much easier for the mom to leave her son. She had the nervous student come back to see her the next morning to make sure everything was worked out smoothly. Caren made a lasting impression on this student which will stay with him his entire ABAC career.” Caren Gladin is the ABAC High Five winner for the first week of Fall 2010.
