BASIC FUNCTION

 

The IT Web Programmer and Systems Support position provides support for ABAC’s web site and BannerWeb interfaces.  Strong HTML,PL-SQL and other web scripting tools is key.  Significant knowledge of a variety of software applications and databases is utilized routinely.

 

 

NATURE & SCOPE

 

IT Web Programmer and Systems Support position reports directly to the Central Information Systems Administrator. 

 

The IT Web Programmer and Systems Support position must have an exhaustive understanding of  programming skills, HTML skills, and software skills.  The incumbent is responsible for support of the Banner student information system and the College’s website.  In addition, the employee must use his/her knowledge to offer support in other areas and to recommend different strategies for departments.  The position also requires the incumbent to train and update staff members.

 

Inherent to this position is the task of remaining abreast of current issues and new technologies in the industry.

   Position Description – IT Web Programmer and Systems Support        

 

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

 

Ø  Provides technical and programming support for the College’s website.

 

Ø  Provides web-based tools to support Banner applications for administrative offices.

 

Ø  Provides reporting tools to support administrative offices with student information system data.

 

Ø  Serves as key support for Student, Financial Aid, and Accounts Receivable modules in Banner.

 

 

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent has no budgetary responsibilities.

 

 

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

This position requires a two-year degree in programming, though a four-year degree is preferred.  Two to four years of work experience in the field is desirable.  The incumbent must possess significant computer programming, and technical skills.
