BASIC FUNCTION |

This
position coordinates the activities of the ABAC infirmary for student and
faculty heath care services. |
|
NATURE
& SCOPE The Registered Nurse
reports to the Chair of the Division of Nursing and Health Services. The incumbent supervises two student
workers. The primary focus of the
Registered Nurse is to provide continuity of care to and for all ABAC
students, faculty, and staff. This requires and in depth and far reaching
knowledge of medications and current medical practices. The Registered Nurse must have an
understanding of a variety of illnesses and treatments. The Registered Nurse must
be time efficient and possess prioritization skills. As patients come for treatment, many have a
time constraint, and the Registered Nurse must be able to deal with these
patients quickly and efficiently. In
relation, the Registered Nurse must have excellent interpersonal skills. He/She must be comfortable communicating
with a variety of different patient personalities. This position is typically
defined by procedure, but the Registered Nurse had the ability and latitude
to consider and implement appropriate alternatives and courses of
action. In fact, the incumbent must
hold an aptitude for recognizing changing priorities and acting accordingly. |

Position Description –
Registered Nurse
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIESThe incumbent is
responsible for collecting and depositing infirmary receipts for services
rendered. These receipts total
approximately $19,000 annually. |

SPECIALIZED
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED |
|
This position requires a
two-year college or vocational school degree and three to five years
experience in the field. The
Registered Nurse must be state board certified, have a registered nurse
license, and be certified in CPR. |
