BASIC FUNCTION |
|
|
|
This
position consists of technical and professional work in utilizing multimedia
equipment. In addition, this position
is responsible for training faculty, staff, administrators, and students in multimedia
equipment. The incumbent also deals
with production-ready television broadcasting media. The incumbent serves as the administrator
of the Call Manager and Unity Voice Mail to the Cisco IP telephony phone
system. |

NATURE
& SCOPE |
|
This position reports to
the IT Network Support Professional Network Support Specialist –
Manager. This position supervises a
small number of student workers. The incumbent is responsible
for directing the media needs of the College.
This includes producing advertising media for television
broadcast. Inherently, the incumbent
must have a superior knowledge of multimedia production software and
equipment. In addition, the incumbent
must understand the function of different areas of the College in order to
effectively promote them. This
requires the incumbent to spend a large amount of time working with and
developing relationships with other faculty, staff, and administrators across
campus. Interpersonal communication
skills are vital to success in this area. Another major duty of this
position is the supervision of the telephone system. The incumbent serves as system
administrator for this system, and as such is responsible for creating and
maintaining the telephone database, training users, and producing
documentation. This position also
involves developing and recommending voicemail and call manager policies and
standards and developing operational procedures. The incumbent must spend a
large amount of time to keep abreast of changing technology issues. These issues can have a great effect on the
daily operations of the incumbent.
Thus, it is necessary for the incumbent to continuously learn new
things about the field. Adaptability
to changing conditions is vital. |

PRINCIPAL
ACCOUNTABILITIES |

Ø
Installs,
maintains, and operates computerized multimedia audio/visual equipment and
software to support various instructional methods Ø
Provides
training and assistance to students, faculty, and staff in the use of
multimedia equipment and media production software Ø
Manages the
daily operation of the Ø
Coordinates the
programs, resources, and facilities of media services and the conference room Ø
Serves as the
administrator of the Call Manager and Unity Voice Mail to the Cisco IP
telephony phone system Ø
Produces and
edits video programs for various entities on campus Ø
Duplicates
audio and video tapes for faculty, students, and staff according to
educational use copyright laws Ø
Assists the
technical support staff with troubleshooting and computer support |

The incumbent is
responsible for the expenses of media supplies and equipment used in daily
operations. |

SPECIALIZED

four year college degree and three to five years of experience in the
