BASIC FUNCTION

 

The Housing Assignments Coordinator is responsible for processing all applications for room assignments and minor supervisory responsibility with respect to the work of subordinate clerks, and assist in routine work of the housing office.

 

 

NATURE & SCOPE

 

The Assignments Coordinator reports to the Dean of Student Life and Housing.  The incumbent understands the goal of the department and position, but has the latitude to determine how best to accomplish this goal.

 

Issues may arise concerning room assignments where the incumbent must make an unbiased decision concerning what action to take. Problems involving roommate conflicts may occur and the incumbent, along with Housing Coordinators, may be involved with resolving these conflicts.

 

 

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  1. Processes all applications for room assignments in accordance with established policies, acknowledging applications
  2. Maintains accurate files on administration fees and pending applications
  3. Processes data for administrative reports
  4. Works collaboratively with ABAC Business Office to report students living on campus
  5. Conducts room checks to establish actual utilization of room space
  6. Compiles data for administrative reports
  7. Prepares room rent records
  8. Works with OITS, concerning information in Banner
  9. Authorizes room changes, refunds/and or forfeitures
  10. Responsible for minor supervisory work
  11. Complete some clerical work in accordance with established policies

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

This position requires a two-year college degree preferred; great communication skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office and Banner a plus
