BASIC FUNCTION
|
|
The Chief Accounting Officer is also the Chief Financial Officer of the ABAC Foundation and provides leadership and organizational support to the Foundation. This position provides fiduciary management for the Foundation, First ABAC, LLC, Second ABAC, LLC, and other such organizations as they are formed. Working with volunteer boards of trustees and college leadership, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures for the ABAC Foundation. |

NATURE & SCOPE
|
|
The Chief Accounting Officer reports to the College Advancement Officer who also serves as President of the ABAC Foundation. The incumbent works collaboratively with the Foundation President, Foundation Trustees, and College President to develop and implement policies and procedures related to the ABAC Foundation. The incumbent will be an integral part of the Office of College Advancement team and will have the latitude to make decisions that support and direct co-worker units to accomplish the office goals.
Serving as the Chief Financial Officer of the ABAC Foundation, the incumbent is responsible for the overall management of all Foundation assets, including the oversight of endowments, trusts, supporting foundations, grants, fund accounts, investment accounts, operating budgets, scholarships, real estate, annual audits, and maintaining comprehensive tracking records and analysis of results.
As the Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent supports the Foundation President in governance of the Foundation Board. The incumbent establishes policies and procedures to ensure the Foundation maintains fiduciary responsibilities. The Chief Financial Officer will develop reporting processes and provide executive level reporting to the Foundation Board.
The incumbent also provides management support for First ABAC, LLC and Second ABAC, LLC, which are divisions of the ABAC Foundation. The incumbent works collaboratively with the LLC Board and College management in facility maintenance, budget and audit preparation in order to provide asset management for ABAC privatized housing.
As required, the incumbent will work with the College Advancement Officer in Capital and Strategic Planning for the College. The incumbent will assist the College Advancement Officer in providing leadership, planning, coordination, direction and implementation of the College Strategic Facility Master Plan so as to support the College’s mission. Participation in these projects will involve regular interaction and communication with internal and external groups, including college administration, the University System of Georgia, and the private sector. |

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
|
|
Ø Develops and implements policies and procedures for the ABAC Foundation. Ø Provides management for all Foundation assets and ensures fiduciary responsibilities are maintained. Ø Develops strategy and provides oversight for ABAC Foundation investments. Ø Responsible for development and implementation of financial reporting processes. Ø Presents executive level reporting to the Foundation Board, including full financial reports such as a general ledger, profit and loss statements, and investment reporting. Ø Supports the Foundation President in governance of the Foundation Board. Ø Prepares annual budgets for ABAC Foundation, First and Second ABAC, LLCs and works with Foundation Accountant and Auditor in support of annual audits. Ø Manages the accounts of First and Second ABAC, LLCs including, for example, check writing, transfers, and account balancing. Ø Insures compliance with requirements specified in certain legal documents associated with bond indebtedness on behalf of First and Second ABAC, LLCs. Ø May, as appropriate, represent the College Advancement Officer in college and community meetings, including events outside normal working hours. Ø Assists the College Advancement Officer in Capital and Strategic Planning for the College. Ø Assists other Office of College Advancement staff with special projects, events and activities.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
The Chief Accounting Officer administers budgets for the ABAC Foundation, First ABAC, LLC, and Second ABAC, LLC. In addition, the incumbent works with the Director of Support Operations to provide accounting and budgetary support for the Office of College Advancement.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED |
|
This position requires a Master’s degree with 3 to 5 years experience in a related field. Excellent written and oral communication, organization and interpersonal skills are required. Must have accounting and reporting expertise and be proficient in all Microsoft products, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in Blackbaud Raisers Edge and Financial Edge software is preferred. |
