ABAC Housing Options for Freshmen

ABAC Housing Options

Students who are not subject to the Freshman Residency Requirement are housed at ABAC Place, on-campus apartments which are individually leased by the bedroom.

Each bedroom at ABAC Place is furnished with a full-size bed, chest of drawers, extra storage underneath bed, built-in desk with book shelves, two-position study chair, 9-foot ceilings with ceiling fans, wall-to-wall carpeting, free cable and Internet, and large closet.

Apartments also include a luxury kitchen with dining counter with barstools, stove, microwave, full-size refrigerator, double sink, pantry, and garbage disposal.  The living area in each apartment is furnished with sofa, over-sized easy chair, coffee table and end table, entertainment console, 9-foot ceilings with ceiling fans, and cable and phone connections with free local service.

Town Hall, the community center of ABAC Place, features a state-of-the-art fitness center; computer lab; and an activity center with Plasma TV, pool tables, foosball, and a kitchen/dining area.  Regular community events take place in the activity center and in the adjacent multi-purpose classroom.

A sand volleyball court, outdoor grills and picnic tables, a gazebo, and plenty of green space offer opportunities for outdoor recreation in the mild South Georgia climate.

Cost per person for the 2009-10 academic year (10-month lease) is $4780 ($2390 each semester) for a 4-bedroom apartment. A limited number of 3-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments are also available. Cost per person for a 3-bedroom apartment with private bedroom and shared bath is $5360 ($2680 per semester) or $5540 ($2770 per semester) for a private bedroom and private bath. Students pay $6000 ($3000 per semester) per person for a 2-bedroom, 2 bath apartment.

A non-refundable reservation fee of $235 is required to reserve your room.

ABAC Place is located at the center of the ABAC campus, making it extremely convenient to class and other campus activities.

Meal Plans

All students who live on campus are required to purchase a meal plan. Residents who have completed two semesters of college will be charged a minimum meal plan fee of $630 per semester, unless they opt to purchase a more comprehensive meal plan. Full details on all meal plans as well as other dining services are available at www.abac.edu/dining.

All students must choose a meal plan from the options available to them. Students who fail to choose will be charged the standard options—unlimited plan for freshmen and $630 block plan for others.

Meal plan fees will be added to the tuition and fees of each resident at the beginning of fall and spring semesters. Questions regarding meal plans should be directed to Dining Services or to the Gold Card Office in the One-Stop Shop.
