Normally, membership in the Honors Program
is gained through invitation from the Honors Director. Fall Semester
applicants to ABAC with SAT scores of 1100 or better
(combined Verbal and Math) and/or ACT composite scores of 24 or better are routinely invited to
join, but other college applicants with excellent academic backgrounds may
request consideration. Admission is competitive, and meeting the minimum
required scores is not a guarantee of admission.
We are looking for students with diverse and unique
experiences and qualities to enrich our program, and we know that test scores
are not the only predictor of college success. If you believe that you can
benefit from our program as well as contribute to it, but you do not meet the
minimum SAT or ACT requirements, send us an application along with a personal
statement and a letter of recommendation from a teacher or advisor. Both the
statement and letter should address your strengths and potential
contributions
Current full-time ABAC students with a minimum 3.5 grade point
average may be nominated by one or more professors for membership in the
program after their first semester at ABAC.
