What is HEP?The High School Equivalency Program is designed to meet the special needs of migrant and seasonal farm workers and their dependent children by helping them to obtain the equivalence of a High School Diploma and subsequently to gain employment or be placed in an institution of higher education or vocational training. The HEP Program assists in the preparation and successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) Diploma exams. HEP also provides placement services for universities, colleges, junior colleges, vocational institutions, military services, and other post-secondary activities or career positions. The High School Equivalency Program is funded by the US Department of Education, Office of Migrant Education.
