Scholarship Listings

Vernon Yow Forestry Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to worthy students enrolled in the ABAC forestry program who have demonstrated academic achievement.  Preference is given to sophomores when all other factors are equal.

Tommy C. Perry Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to academically strong students who are U.S. citizens but non-residents of Georgia with majors in agricultural engineering or other agriculture-related fields.

Southeastern Turfgrass Conference Scholarship

Recipients of this scholarship are selected upon recommendation by the Southeastern Turfgrass Conference Planning Committee and the ABAC Environmental Horticulture Technology Department.  Selection is based upon academic achievement and a declared major in Golf Turf Management, Commercial Turf Management, Golf Club Management, or Landscape Design and Grounds Maintenance (with an emphasis on golf course landscaping).  Recipients must be sophomores in one of these programs at ABAC.

Senator and Mrs. Harold Ragan Scholarship

Recipients are selected upon recommendation from the faculty of the ABAC School of Agriculture and Natural Resources based upon a strong record of academic achievement.

S.L. Lewis Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to Georgia residents with a major in the field of agriculture and a record of academic excellence.

Robert L. Miles Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students with majors in agriculture or an agriculture-related field who have financial need and a strong academic record.  Recipients may be either entering freshmen or rising sophomores.

Richard L. (“Dick”) Payne Scholarship

Established in honor of Dick Payne, who served as Associate Professor of Wildlife and coordinator of the Wildlife Program at ABAC from 1983 to 2001, this scholarship is awarded to sophomores (30+ semester hours) who are Wildlife Technology majors, are members of the Forestry-Wildlife Club, have attended the Natural Resource Conservation Camp, and have maintained satisfactory academic standing.

Oren and Aileen Grace Harden Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students with strong academic records, with preference to students majoring in an agriculture-related field of study.
