ABAC Ag Alumni Scholarship

Supported with proceeds from the annual ABAC AgClassic Golf Tournament and the ABAC Ag Alumni Council, this scholarship is awarded to students with a declared major in the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources.  Recipients will demonstrate leadership through participation in recognized activities, particularly FFA, FCCLA, and 4-H.

ABAC/Staplcotn Congressional Internship

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide ABAC students the opportunity to participate in an internship in the Washington, D.C. office of Senator Saxby Chambliss.  The internship will be offered to one student per academic year to work in the area of agricultural policy and to obtain direct knowledge of the congressional system.  The selected recipient serves during one semester, at the discretion of the Senator’s office and ABAC.

Agrium U.S., Inc., Tifton, Georgia Scholarship

This scholarship provides funds to students with demonstrated leadership ability and a declared major within the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources.  Involvement in leadership activities – particularly in organizations such as FFA, FCCLA and/or 4-H – are a strong consideration for award.

B. Frank Strickland Memorial Scholarship

Recipients are selected from recommendations of the B. Frank Strickland Memorial Scholarship Fund Scholarship Recommendation Committee.  Recipients must be residents of a county involved in tobacco production located within the State of Georgia, with first preference to students wishing to major in an agriculture-related subject.  Please click here for additional information about this scholarship.

B.H. and Lanell Claxton Annual Scholarship

Recipients of this scholarship must be rising sophomores with majors in the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, first preference being to students majoring in Agricultural Education.  Recipients must have a record of consistent academic achievement along with recommendations from the faculty of the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

B.H. and Lanell Claxton Endowed Scholarship

Recipients of this scholarship must be upperclassmen with majors in the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources.  Students majoring in Agricultural Education will receive first consideration for award.  Recipients must have a record of consistent academic achievement along with recommendations from the faculty of the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

B.L. Southwell Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in an agriculture-related field or in Family and Consumer Sciences.  Students with agricultural majors in animal science will receive preference, and all recipients must maintain a strong academic standing.

Brightwell Horticulture Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a rising sophomore majoring in Ornamental Horticulture Technology who possesses a strong academic record.  Recipients must have attended ABAC during their entire previous year of study, and have been actively involved in the Horticulture Club.  Interest in and involvement with campus beautification projects as certified by the ABAC Horticulture faculty will be another consideration for award.
