SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

 

The Muryl Yow Scholarship will be awarded according to the following rules and regulations set up by the Scholarship Committee and approved by the Club.

 

The Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee will consist of a chairman and four other committee members (at least two faculty and two non-faculty); each person will serve two years; each year new members will be appointed as needed to fill positions vacated by members who have completed their two-year appointment. The committee chairman will call a scholarship committee meeting after the March 15 deadline.

 

Guidelines

1.      The recipient will be chosen based on his/her academic record and financial need regardless of race, creed, sex, or national origin.

2.      Preference will be given to students receiving no financial aid who are non-traditional students or dependents of ABAC employees.

3.      At least one scholarship will be awarded each year. Total awards for scholarship(s) shall not exceed the earnings of the endowment (e.g., $1,000 scholarship on $20,000 endowment)

 

Criteria

1.      The scholarship is to be awarded to a student enrolled at ABAC with a financial need who has successfully completed at least one term of enrollment at ABAC with not less than a 2.0 grade point average.

2.      Each applicant will fully complete the Baldwin Woman’s Club Scholarship application form and send it to the Baldwin Woman’s Club.

3.      Applications must be postmarked to the Baldwin Woman’s Club by March 15.

Muryl Yow Memorial Scholarship: Awarded annually to a student(s) enrolled at ABAC with financial need who has successfully completed at least one term of enrollment at ABAC with not less than a 2.0 GPA. Preference will be given to students receiving no financial aid and who are non-traditional students or dependents of ABAC employees. Applications must be postmarked to the Baldwin Woman’s Club by March 15. Applications will be available from Baldwin Woman’s Club members and the Office of Academic Affairs.
