Family: Important Links: ABAC Family Weekend 2011
Dear ABAC Families,
On behalf of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, I am pleased
to invite you to be part of a new ABAC tradition--Family Weekend!
The dates for this event are Friday – Saturday, October 7 – 8,
2011.
Why should you attend Family Weekend? Because this is a
golden opportunity to get to know your student’s friends, meet their
families, and sample a bit of campus life. Oh yes—and to have fun!
Weekend activities will begin Friday afternoon with campus sports
events and a family dinner in the dining hall. Later that evening,
you will enjoy ABAC’s movie night—an outdoor screening of a family
friendly movie, with ABAC snow cones and popcorn.
Saturday will provide an opportunity to sample one of ABAC’s
newest acquisitions, Georgia’s Museum of Agriculture. Along with an
alumni-sponsored cookout, kids will be able to enjoy games and outdoor
events. The weekend will conclude with families touring the
Museum’s grounds for free.
This particular weekend at the Museum will feature blacksmiths, fiddles
and musicians. The Georgia
Museum of Agriculture is one of Tifton’s treasurers and families will be
admitted for free on Saturday to experience some of what this location
has to offer.
Our staff has put together what we think will be a very enjoyable
weekend for parents, siblings, and extended family of all ABAC
students. I hope you will join your student and us as we celebrate
ABAC campus life.
Regards,
Dr. Niles Reddick
