Alapaha Coed Receives Essay Award at Ms. ABAC Event

Janna Jernigan, a freshman agriculture major from Alapaha, received the essay award at the recent Ms. ABAC event at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

Jernigan is the daughter of Darrell and Staci Jernigan.  She was sponsored by ABAC’s Honors Program.

Shannon Kehoe, a senior agricultural communications major from Myakka City, Fla., was crowned Ms. ABAC 2018.  Other finalists included first runner-up Meredith McGlamory, a sophomore agricultural communications and marketing major from Abbeville; second runner-up Madison Williams, a senior agricultural communications major from Winder; third runner-up Delaney Foster, a junior crop and soil sciences major from Perry; and fourth runner-up Delanie Israel, a junior diversified agriculture major from Smithville.

Kehoe received the individual award in the interview category.  Cassidy Davis, a junior agribusiness major from Jefferson, received the Ms. Congeniality award; and Jamie Worsley, a freshman history and government major from Arlington, received the People’s Choice award.

The Agricultural Business Club sponsored the event.  A portion of the proceeds benefitted the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
