Tenure Approved For Three ABAC Faculty Members

Three members of the faculty at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College have been approved for tenure, effective Aug. 1, according to Dr. Gail Dillard, ABAC Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Those receiving tenure include Dr. Joseph Brown, Becca Turner, and Amy Warren. Tenure may be granted to a faculty member who has served at least five years as an assistant professor and has shown the potential for making significant contributions to the college and in the faculty member’s field of study.

Brown received his A.B. in English and Political Science from the University of Georgia, his M.A. in English from Auburn University, and his Ph.D. in English from Louisiana State University. He joined the School of Liberal Arts faculty in 2011 and serves as an Associate Professor of English in the School of Liberal Arts.          

Turner earned her B.S.A. in Agricultural Communication and her M.M.A. in Mass Media Communication from the University of Georgia. She has been a member of the School of Liberal Arts faculty since 2007. She will receive a promotion to the rank of Associate Professor of Speech Communication on Aug. 1.

Warren is an Associate Professor of Education in the School of Human Sciences. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Early Childhood Education from Florida State University. She has been a member of the ABAC faculty since 2007.
