Summer Term Classes Begin June 3 at ABAC

TIFTON –Summer term classes begin June 3 on the campus of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

“This is a great way for current students to stay on track with their education and for new students to get a head start on their college career,” ABAC Director of Enrollment Management Donna Webb said.

“Many students use summer term as a time to take a more challenging class so they can focus all their efforts on one class,” said Webb.  “Most students don’t carry a full load of classes in the summer, so it allows them time to concentrate without having to balance 12 or more hours.”

Students who are graduating from high school this month may also want to take advantage of attending a class during the summer to prepare for their college careers.  That includes those students who will be attending ABAC and those who may be attending another college or university in the fall.

Students in the area who attended another college or university during the past year can also pick up a class at ABAC this summer as a transient student.  These students should choose a class that will transfer back to the college or university they will be attending during the fall term.

Students interested in financial aid as a transient student should contact the financial aid office at their home institution.  Students living in the area who need financial assistance can contact ABAC Student Financial Services at (229) 391-4910. Tuition and fees for the summer term are due by May 23 at 3 p.m.

The ABAC Office of Admissions can be reached by e-mail at or through the website at  The summer term runs through July 24.  Fall semester classes begin at ABAC on Aug. 14.
