Holiday Market & Country Store Open House Dec. 6 at Museum of Agriculture
TIFTON –Visitors can shop for locally grown produce for their holiday tables and purchase handmade gifts, crafts, and other goods from 5-8 p.m. on Dec. 6 during the second annual Wiregrass Farmers Holiday Market and Country Store Open House at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Admission to the Holiday Market is $2 per person or $5 for a family of four. Tickets will be sold at the door.
The Holiday Market will feature fresh baked goods, artisan breads, food gifts, and handcrafted items such as soaps, fiber art, jewelry, and holiday decorations for the special folks on everyone’s list. Over 20 vendors will be located outside under the market barn and inside in the Peanut Museum. Local artist Joy Johnson will provide live music to add to the spirit of the holidays.
“Redneck Santa” and his furry farm friends will be available for pictures, and warm soup and cornbread will be offered for sale so visitors can make an evening out of their shopping trip. Free gift wrapping, food samples, and special discounts will be available inside the Country Store where shoppers can find American-made toys, Georgia-grown salsas, dips, jams and jellies, books by local authors, and other unique gifts.
Other events at the Museum during the holiday season will include Victorian Village by Candlelight on Dec. 8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., the Wiregrass Christmas from 9-4:30 p.m. on Dec. 14, and the North Pole Express on Dec. 19-20 from 5-8 p.m. The Victorian Village by Candlelight and North Pole Express events require a ticket that must be purchased in advance. All tickets can be purchased at the Country Store.
Admission to the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village on Tuesday-Friday is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors (age 55 and over), $4 for children 5-16 years of age, and free for children four and under. Saturday admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (age 55 and over), $5 for children 5-16 years of age, and free for children four and under.
