Douglasville Student to Compete for Mr. ABAC Title

TIFTON—Kevin Vantrees from Douglasville will compete with 12 other men for the title of Mr. ABAC at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on March 28.  The theme for this year’s event is “Grease”.

Sponsored, produced, and directed by the Family and Consumer Sciences Club, the event begins at 7 p.m. in Howard Auditorium. Tickets are $5 per person and will be available in Bowen Hall 205 on March 25. If the event is not a sellout, tickets will also be available at the door.

Vantrees is a junior diversified agriculture major. He is the son of Andrea Allen-Vantrees and Kevin Harold Vantrees and is sponsored by ABAC’s Agricultural Business Club.

Contestants are sponsored by campus clubs, athletic teams, and student media. They will compete in casual attire, formal attire, and interview categories. Contestants will also be judged on a written timed essay.

The top contestant will receive a plaque and a cash prize. A contestant’s award, interview award, and essay award will also be given.  Family and Consumer Sciences Club members will choose “Fun Awards” that will also be presented to contestants.
