AdvisorsRural Studies ClubJordan Cofer: Dr. Cofer loves it here at ABAC and has been involved with several different clubs, Pegasus Literary Journal, published stories in The Stallion Newspaper and am hosting a college-radio show on 103.1. Along with his wife, Cofer was honored to receive a campus Pacesetter Award for 2010. But perhaps his biggest honor was being asked to be a food judge at the Fire Ant Festival in Ashburn. Cofer moved to Tifton with his wife, Rebecca, the Student Development Specialist for students in Liberal Arts. In the last few years, he has lived in several states including Georgia, Texas, Virginia, Massachusetts and Missouri. Dr. Cofer grew up in both Missouri and Tennessee. His wife is from New Jersey and Philadelphia, PA. Although they have been moving throughout the country, they both feel at home in Tifton Located in office 302 in Conger Hall, Cofer asks that students feel free to stop in and talk to him or give him a call (229) 391-4971 Rebecca Cofer: ABAC has four new staff positions called Academic Support Counselor. Yes, they are here to help students from the time they enter until the time they graduate or transfer, but what specifically can she help you with? Rebecca does many things in the span of a day, from helping students with financial aid questions to looking in to career options for that Liberal Arts degree to even advising the Rural Studies Club here at ABAC. Rebecca can also review resumes with you, discuss time management or study issues and help you with registration questions (once you have seen your advisor, of course). She does many things, but the point is that she is here to help. Rebecca moved to Tifton in the summer of 2009 and absolutely loves the small town community that the town and ABAC has to offer. She is originally from South Jersey and still enjoy cooking lots of Italian food. Her educational background, like many, is in Liberal Arts (English and History and then a Master's degree in English Literature). If you've met her, you know she loves feeding people and encouraging students. Rebecca’s husband works at ABAC as a professor in English and is actually teaching in one LLC English class. Rebecca has a twin sister that most people think looks like and she also love tofu. Just some random facts about one of your SDSs. Rebecca is here for you, so don't hesitate to contact her any time you have questions or need help. Rebecca Cofer |
