Book Signing for Dr. Weill

Weill to Sign Debut Novel at ABAC on March 19

TIFTON – Former president of Gordon College, Dr. Lawrence Weill, will be on the campus of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College for a book signing for his debut novel, Incarnate, on March 19 from 2-4:30 p.m. in the Health Sciences building, Room 108.  This event is open to the community.  What should a woman do if she believes she is the mother of the second coming of Christ? This is the problem Lara Joyner faces when she comes to believe that her son is Christ incarnate.  Told alternately from Lara’s perspective and from the other principles in the story, Incarnate follows the trials brought on by Lara’s spiraling madness, her husband’s desperate search for his family, and the children’s bewilderment and fear.  Weill became the second president of Gordon College on April 1, 2002. He retired from academic duties in May 2012.  He has published numerous papers on town-gown relations, the arts, student advisement and peer tutoring. He served as an editorial assistant for Research in Higher Education.  He holds a B.S. in mathematics from Brescia College in Owensboro, Ky.; an M.A. in humanities from the University of Evansville in Evansville, Ind., and a Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Kentucky. Also an artist, he was eleven when he was given his first canvas and set of oils and began his lifelong interest in the visual arts.  Educated in the fields of mathematics and philosophy, Weill has been a philosopher and college administrator for over thirty years.  Throughout that career, he has carved out time for his art.  Weill works in pencils, oils, and mixed media.
