Lalewicz Named Player of The Year

ABAC women’s tennis player Monika Lalewicz has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) 2009 Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Lalewicz, a sophomore business major from Mississaugh, Canada, won the national title at #1 singles in 2008 and finished second in this year’s national tournament at #1 singles. On April 25, Lalewicz was named the MVP of the NJCAA Region XVII tournament at the Red Hill Tennis Center when ABAC won its 16th consecutive championship.

“Attending ABAC has been an eventful two years,” Lalewicz said. “The best thing about ABAC has been the people. Tifton is the friendliest place I have ever been, and the hospitality has been phenomenal.”

Lalewicz has already accepted a scholarship to play tennis at Penn State University.
