Fillies In State Semifinal Matchup on Friday The Golden Fillies of ABAC will try to take advantage of their highest postseason seeding in the history of the program when they play in a semifinal match in the state soccer tournament on Friday at 7 p.m. at Darton State College. Coach Jimmy Ballenger’s team rolled up a 9-3 overall record this season on the way to a second place seed in the tournament, which will be hosted by top seeded Darton. Quarterfinal matchups are Tuesday, and ABAC will play the winner of Georgia Military and South Georgia. If ABAC wins on Friday, the Fillies will attempt to win their first state championship ever in Saturday’s 3 p.m. title game. Blakeley Bergeron led the Fillies in scoring this year with 14 goals. Breanna Gomez had 10 goals, and Katy Hunt recorded 10 assists on the year. The Fillies’ only losses on the year were to Darton by 9-1 and 3-0 scores, and Florida College by a 3-2 score.
