ABAC: Katrese hit .299 as a freshman playing in 44 games at 1st base. Katrese hit 4 doubles, 3 triples and drove in 10 runs while scoring 33 times.

Campbell on Katrese: “It just doesn’t happen; meaning Katrese came to us as a walk on player in 2014 and became a mainstay in the Fillie lineup. She is a tremendous athlete and such a joy to coach. She can play anywhere; 1st base, shortstop and outfield! I felt like I won the lottery the day Katrese came into my office and asked to tryout.”

High School: Katrese graduated with honors at Seminole County High School and played varsity softball and basketball for 4 years. Her softball team were Region Champs 3 consecutive years and went to the GHSA State tournament her senior year. She was named All-Region player all 4 years and Player of the Year her sophomore, junior and senior year.

Personal: Katrese was born September 30, 1994 in Donalsonville, Ga. Her parents are Erica and Chris Brown. Katrese has 2 brothers and 1 sister. She enjoys anything that has to do with sports and shopping. She is majoring in Allied Health.

Why ABAC? “I chose ABAC because it was closer to home and the campus was beautiful. I had no intention of playing softball, but I’m so glad I have the opportunity. The coaches and players are so nice. I am looking forward to a great season.”
