Career Connections

This year the Ag Business Club is kicking off Career Connections as the focus for this years activities. Our programs this year will focus on deciding what career path interests, getting the necessary experiences and skills you need, and getting connected with the organizations and individuals that can help you land that career. Last year we built the Resume Database and this year we putting it to use helping students find Interships, Scholarships, and Job Opportunities. This year we will host an Interview Workshop to give students practice interviewing before the School wide Career Fair in November. With plenty of networking opportunites, development programs and industry professionals to guide the way, this year promises to be an amazing one.

Ag Business Club

The Ag Business Club is dedicated to helping the students of ABAC through career development, service opportunities, professional networking, and education enhancement. The club is open to all ABAC students regardless of major. Our primary focuses are agriculture, business, management, marketing, communications and development.

One of the ways we accomplish all of this is through our affiliation with the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA). As an accredited NAMA chapter we receive a lot of support from industry professionals who want to contribute to the next generation of business managers. Additionally, we travel to the annual student marketing competition each April. At the competition more than 300 students from over 30 major colleges and universities present a full marketing for a new innovative agricultural product. Students spend an entire academic year developing the plan and the presentation that is presented to panels marketing representatives. The conference offers an amazing experience as well as the opportunity to meet 1,000 industry contacts in attendance. In its first year, the Ag Business Club was one of the top chapters in the country. This year we're shooting for the top.
