The Admissions Definition and Checklist Chart below will help you as you complete the admissions application.  Choose the admissions category that best describes you.  Then review the checklist of admission requirements below the chart for your admissions category and have all of the required documents sent to:

ADMISSIONS DEFINITIONS & CHECKLIST

 You may only check one box on the admissions application, so choose the one that best describes you.

Freshman
  • Never attended a college or university
  • Transferring less than 30 semester hours of transferable college credit
  • Admission Application
  • $20 non-refundable application fee
  • Certificate of Immunization
  • Official High School Transcript from an accredited high school indicating date of graduation and type of diploma.  (Send a partial now if you are still in high school and another after graduation.)
  • Official GED Scores, if applicable.  If your high school class graduated within the past five years, we also need an official copy of your high school transcript. 
  • Official copy of transcripts from every institution attended since high school.  (Send a partial now if still attending and a final at the end of the last term before you enroll at ABAC.)  You will receive an evaluation of transfer credit from ABAC after your transcript is evaluated.
Transfer from another institution
  • You have enrolled previously in any accredited college or university and have 30 semester hours or more of transferable college credit
  • Admission Application
  • $20 non-refundable application fee
  • Certificate of Immunization
  • Official copy of Transcripts from every institution attended since high school.  (Send a partial now if still attending and a final at the end of the last term before you enroll at ABAC.)  You will receive an evaluation of transfer credit from ABAC after your transcript is evaluated. 
  • Official High School Transcript from an accredited high school indicating date of graduation and type of diploma or official copy of your GED scores.  (Until ABAC determines that 30 or more hours are accepted at ABAC, we need an official copy of your high school transcript or GED scores.)
Transient for one term
  • You are currently enrolled in another accredited college or university and plan to enroll in ABAC classes for one term only and will transfer the courses back to your home institution.

You must submit a transcript request in order for ABAC to send an official transcript to your home institution at the end of the term.

Former ABAC student You have NOT attended ABAC within the past three terms:
  • Admission Application
  • Certificate of Immunization
  • Official transcript from any institution attended since last term of enrollment at ABAC.
Former ABAC Student You have attended ABAC within the past three terms
  • Official transcripts from each institution attended since last attending ABAC, if applicable. 
  • Nothing else is required.  You may proceed to your academic advisor for advisement/registration.
Joint Enrollment/Early Admission You are a high school junior or senior and meet the Joint Enrollment/Early Admission requirements.

  • Official partial high school transcript
  • Official SAT/ACT scores. 
  • You must meet the minimum requirements listed in the ABAC Catalog for admission into this special program to enroll in college classes while still in high school. 
Post Baccalaureate You already hold a baccalaureate or higher degree.
  • Admission Application

  • Certificate of Immunization
  • Offical copy of transcripts from every institution attended since high school.
GED Student You earned a General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Use the applicable requirements for either "Freshman" or "Transfer From Another Institution".
International Student You were born outside the United States or its territories (regardless of current citizenship or residency status); or completed secondary education (high school) outside the United States or its territories; or underwent coursework at any college or university outside the United States or its territories. In addition to meeting all the regular admissions requirements, the applicant must:
  • Submit an official English translation with his or her secondary school transcripts.
  • Be among the upper level in academic achievement with high grades in school subjects
  • Students whose native tongue is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English by taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).  Test scores will be used in placement of students.  Minimum required scores are 523 on the paper TOEFL, 193 on the computer TOEFL, or 69 on the Internet TOEFL.
  • Show financial independence or sponsorship by completing the Certificate of Financial Support form, and submitting bank statements for the past six months.
  • Required to provide information in the GLACIER software upon receiving User ID/Password. This information is used to determine Tax Status for scholarships received. This is mandated by the Internal Revenue Service.
  • Required to purchase or be exempt from University System health and accident insurance.

The out-of-state fee shall apply to all international students except those accepted under the special provisions of the Board of Regents....

Home Schooled An applicant who was home schooled or graduated from an unaccredited high school.
Senior Citizen You are 62 years of age or older and wish to attend as a regular student or an auditor on a space available basis without payment of fees except for supplies and laboratories.
  • Use the applicable requirements listed above for either "Freshman" or "Transfer From Another Institution".
  • Documentation of age.
Non-Traditional Student You graduated or would have graduated from high school five or more years ago.
  • Use the applicable requirements listed above for either "Freshman" or "Transfer From Another Institution".
