  • Researches auto-buying services on the Internet and acts as liaison with any services the dealership uses to promote its site or advertise.
  • Works with General Manager to maintain AutoTrader.com solution to attract new and repeat visitors.
  • Takes photos of dealership inventory for use on the dealership and 3rd party websites.
  • Maintains an ongoing customer database to capture repeat business.
  • Establishes personal goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity, and devises a strategy to meet those goals.
  • Keeps abreast of new products, features, accessories, etc., and their benefits to customers.
  • Attends product and sales training as requested by sales manager.
  • Maintains professional appearance.
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor

  • Key month end general ledger entries
  • Ensure general ledger is in balance
  • Calculate split of distribution center expenses monthly
  • Check inter-company notes monthly
  • Calculate and record interest in general ledger
  • Balance liability and clearing accounts

Tax reporting:

  • Submit sales tax returns

Records Maintenance:

  • Maintain credit information on all stores
  • Maintain W-9 file
  • Maintain printed employee payroll records

Year End:

  • Create and disburse 1099s and 1096s
  • Research old outstanding checks

Reporting:

  • Assist in preparation of monthly reporting for stores and distribution center

General/Miscellaneous:

  • Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet with little direction
  • General knowledge of office accounting functions
  • Answer phones
  • Assist customers (including customer pickups)
  • Create sku numbers for new products
  • Order supplies and keep supply room clean and organized

In addition to the duties listed, this position will also need learn all of the other jobs in the office (receptionist, order clerk, accounting clerk, and accounts payable clerk) to assist me when others are out sick or on vacation.  This will also allow this person to learn every aspect of how the office operates and give them a broad understanding of our procedures.  This is an excellent opportunity to become a valuable asset to our company and possibly advance into an assistant management position within several years.  The hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Dickey Farms Sweetest Peaches Musella Georgia

Field/Orchard intern-Summer 2014

Dickey Farms, Inc. is a fourth generation peach farm located in Crawford, Monroe, and Peach counties. Since 1897, our farm has been growing and packing fresh peaches for commercial customers such as large chain stores and food service companies. The actual harvest season begins in mid-May and lasts until mid-August.

The purpose of this internship is to provide a platform and resource for a collegiate-level student to partner with an active peach and timber farm in order to participate in an educational, hands-on farm professional experience.

This is a full-time paid internship with housing provided. The start date is flexible, although mid-May is ideal. Compensation is $12.00 per hour with housing provided.  The work schedule will vary according to the weather and the nature of the crop.

Hard-working student who enjoys working independently as well as on a team.

Will work outdoors in a variety of field settings.

Intern must be motivated to take full advantage of  opportunities provided.

Types of duties and experiences: Irrigation, Chemical applications, young peach trees, food safety program.

Irrigation: very critical in the production of peaches.  Intern will be responsible for scheduling drip and hose reel, maintenance of drip lines and operation of hose reel and pipe.

Chemical applications: Intern will be responsible for scheduling and calibration of equipment, supervision of the application and maintain record keeping and inventory of supplies.

Young peach trees: very susceptible to deer, intern will be responsible for supervision of deer suppression equipment, fence maintenance and chemical control.

Food Safety Program-Global Gap: Intern will field maintenance records, assist with GAP audit and certification and the opportunity to learn and understand about Food Safety requirements.

 A Bachelors Degree is required. Applicant must be skilled with Microsoft programs to include Word, Excel, and Power Point. Candidate must be comfortable with website and social media management.  The candidate must be willing to travel a minimal amount regionally and statewide, and participate in required state-level job related training and meetings.
 
The candidate will be an Independent Contractor of Brooks County Family Connection understanding that the Brooks County Board of Commissioners is the Fiscal Agent.
