Stafford School of Business
In 1997, Susan and her husband and business partner, Dill, founded ignition, a global marketing agency specializing in Sustainable Brand Experiences based on their shared vision to make a positive impact on people’s lives. In the summer of 2012, Susan and Dill became the Deans of the ABAC Stafford School of Business. Their vision is to make the ABAC Stafford School of Business a keystone in South Georgia, but also a School of national prominence. For students who want to grow their own businesses, manage their family business, build economic development in their communities, or manage a small to mid-size business, the BS Rural Studies, Business and Economic Development is the degree for them.
Upon Susan’s graduation from the University of Georgia with a Masters in Marketing Research she began her career at The Coca-Cola Company where she led the commercialization team for the development of the C0ca-Cola 20 oz. plastic contour bottle. Her team still today is held up as an example of great corporate cross-functional team accomplishing great things for the bottom line as well as for the consumer. While at Coca-Cola she also ran the marketing for the 1996 Olympic Torch Relay.
She then teamed up with her husband and ran the Global Coca-Cola account for Momentum prior to founding ignition in 1997. While at ignition, she worked with great brands such as American Express, British Petroleum, Chick-fil-A, Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, ESPN, Gogo, Kangaroo Express, Kia, Spark Energy and the United Nations Foundation. In 2012, they sold ignition to Havas Sports and Entertainment.
With her husband, Dill, she has also founded several other businesses: The Event Department (Germany), ignition Europe (England), WeGotGear, Click It, Hutto Fabrication, and Relay of Heroes.
She is an active board member of Northwood School Board of Trustees, Lake Placid, NY and The University of Georgia, Terry College of Business Alumni Board.
