Mrs. Paulk  is from Adel, Ga and a graduate from Cook High School. She has worked as a RN for almost 20 years and worked in the areas of CCU/ICU, OB, Med-Surg, School Nursing and Primary Care. She currently resides in Cook County with her husband and two children.

This course is a study of the concepts and psychomotor skills that provide the foundation for nursing theory and practice. A major focus is on the utilization of the nursing process to care for clients from young adulthood through later maturity who require assistance in meeting physiological and psychosocial needs.

The nursing process is utilized to address health promotion and disease prevention for all ages and population groups – individuals, families and communities.
Normal growth and development as well as specific problems and health promotion issues common to each stage is discussed.

This course is designed to assist the student to master critical concepts taught in the first two semesters of nursing. Health and physical assessment, health promotion, growth and development, basic nutrition and diet therapy, diagnostic studies, nursing fundamentals and style exam questions and computer assisted tutorials.
