One-Year Registered Nurse TrackOne-Year Nursing Program One Year Registered Nurse track is an accelerated bridge program leading to an associate degree in nursing for individuals holding a current degree and licensure as LPN’s, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and surgical technologists. Students are accepted into this track every spring and summer semester. All core courses must be completed prior to acceptance. The One Year Registered Nurse track provides curriculum which assists an individual in giving safe, effective nursing care for culturally diverse patients in a variety of health care settings. The registered nurse functions as a member of the healthcare team in promoting and restoring optimal wellness. The program consists of courses in Fundamentals, Health & Physical Assessment, Medical/Surgical, Mental Health, Maternity/Child and Women’s Health and Pediatric Nursing. A variety of teaching/learning strategies are utilized throughout the program. Nursing classes, skills laboratories, and clinicals are scheduled one day per week for one year. NOTE: Surgical technologist, cardiovascular technologists, and medical assistants will be considered for acceptance into this program track through summer of 2014.
