Generic Track
The Generic track is an associate degree nursing program of traditional design. Students are required to complete selected core courses prior to acceptance. Students are accepted into this track every fall and spring semester. The nursing sequence of coursework is completed over two years. The Generic track provides curriculum which assists an individual in giving safe, effective nursing care for culturally diverse patients in a variety of health care settings. The registered nurse functions as a member of the healthcare team in promoting and restoring optimal wellness. The program consists of courses in Fundamentals, Health & Physical Assessment, Medical/Surgical, Mental Health, Maternity/Child and Women’s Health and Pediatric Nursing. A variety of teaching/learning strategies are utilized throughout the program. Nursing classes, skills laboratories, and clinicals are scheduled several days per week each semester.
