The Music Program at ABAC

About The Music Program

A part of the Department of Fine Arts, The Music Program at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College is comprised of over 40 dedicated music majors. The highly qualified music faculty at ABAC includes nationally renowned performers, scholars, conductors, clinicians, and adjudicators, each of whom is committed to inspiring and mentoring their students. With a low student-to-faculty ratio, we pride ourselves in being able to provide individual attention to each and every student in the program.

The Music Program at ABAC offers instrumental and vocal performing ensembles such as the ABAC Concert Band and Concert Choir, the ABAC Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Choir, the ABAC Chamber Singers, as well as various smaller chamber groups. Each academic year, at least 20 musical performances are presented for the public. Several of the major performing ensembles also travel throughout the Southeast and abroad performing for schools, civic groups, and as part of our community concert series. Our ensembles have also performed nationally and internationally from Lincoln Center in New York City to the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Not a music major? No problem! Membership in ensembles is open to all ABAC students. Since its inception, the Music Program at ABAC has brought together students of all disciplines with the common purpose of making music. Our ensembles offer non-music majors the opportunity to continue to play their instruments, as well as to gain extra elective credits on their transcripts. If you sing or play an instrument, we invite you become a member of the ABAC Music Family!
