Teaching Philosophy

The idea of teaching and sharing knowledge is something I have always been drawn to, from helping fellow classmates in school, continuing this through college and graduate school as a graduate teaching assistant, and now performing this important task as a professor.  Considering the influence chemistry has on our everyday lives, being a chemistry professor is an incredible responsibility, and one I take seriously.  As a teacher there are several instructional goals, or student learning outcomes, that guide my teaching. These are for my students to have the ability to communicate effectively and accurately, an awareness of ongoing research, and the ability to think and adapt to changing problems and environments.
