ABAC TurfThe Georgia turfgrass and related industries contribute a total of $7.8 billion annually to the economy. Estimates suggest that at 1.8 million acres, turfgrass is one of the largest agricultural commodities in the state including home lawns, sports fields, golf courses, sod farms, and other managed landscape areas. Turfgrass and Golf Course Management offers education in golf turf, sports turf, and grounds management. ABAC’s Forest Lakes Golf Club provides an outdoor learning laboratory for students in the program, and employment opportunities are readily available throughout the green industry.
