Office of the Provost

The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) has overall responsibility for all matters of academic and student affairs and is a member of the President’s Cabinet. The Provost is responsible for providing faculty leadership, for planning and implementing academic and student affairs policies, for providing guidance in the development of curriculum, for promoting core educational values and integrity, for fostering academic excellence.

Programs of Study

To meet the educational needs of its students, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College offers a range of degrees. Academic programs are housed in four schools: the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the Stafford School of Business.

Registrar

The Office of the Registrar is committed to providing the highest quality experience for our students from freshman registration to graduation day. We are here to guide students through the registration procedures, maintain and organize academic records, review graduation applications, and culminate with the coordination of commencement ceremonies. The Registrar also maintains the academic catalogues designed to provide all information necessary for students to successfully plan their academic journey.

Academic Support and Testing

Academic Support is made up of various services and programs created to empower students to achieve their full academic potential during their time at ABAC. In addition to an academic advisor, students will also have access to an Academic Support Counselor, an ally and guide to help navigate the college roadmap from orientation to graduation.

STEPS

Internships, mentored research, and study abroad opportunities are at the heart of the engaged student learning mission at ABAC. The Student Engagement Programs (STEPS) offer workshops, information sessions, scholarships, and annual symposiums to support these learning opportunities and keep students actively immersed and engaged.

ABAC Libraries exist to support the mission of ABAC through being a dedicated resource for engaging and encouraging teaching and learning opportunities. In keeping with this mission, the ABAC Libraries provide access to resources and information for life-long learning for the community.

Honors Program

The Honors Program at ABAC is designed to encourage intellectually-talented and strongly-motivated students gain the most out of their college experience as possible. Challenging course work and extracurricular engagement place students on a path toward academic and professional success in the future.

Dual Enrollment

ABAC offers engaged academic experiences for advanced high school students through participation in our Dual Enrollment program. Classes are offered at the main campus in Tifton, our instructional sites in Bainbridge, Blakely, and Moultrie as well as various high school throughout South Georgia. No matter where you choose to participate, all classes maintain the quality and academic rigor for which ABAC is known. Qualified students can enjoy full tuition paid by the Georgia Department of Education and textbooks provided by ABAC. Small costs may be necessary for lab fees associated with science courses.

Multicultural Education

The Office of Multicultural Education is driven and passionate about acting as effective advocates for the academic success and personal growth and development of underrepresented students.  We actively work to foster diversity on campus and within our community. We are proud to offer a variety of programs and scholarships to students with diverse and multicultural backgrounds.
