Backup PC Data for Windows 2000

 

Note: To restore data from your backup disks, please contact Tech Support at 3228. Please do not attempt restoration without technical assistance.

Windows 2000

  1. Note: Read/Write Information for Zip Disks

  2. Before beginning the backup, please format 1-3 zip disks. Your backup may require multiple zip disks.

  3. Start [button]

  4. All Programs [pop-up menu]

  5. Accessories [side menu]

  6. System Tools [side menu]

  7. Backup [icon]

  8. Backup Wizard [icon]

  9. Next [button]

  10. Select "Back up selected files, drives, or network data" [radio button]

  11. Next [button]

  12. Select Specific File Locations [above links]

  13. Next [button] upon completion of all file selections

  14. Browse [button] to select zip drive

  15. Select "My Computer" at "Look in:" [pull-down]

  16. Select Removable Disk (i.e., Zip Drive) [pull-down or dialog box]

  17. Open [button]

  18. Enter at filename at "Filename:" [text entry box]

  19. Open [button]

  20. Next [button]

  21. Finish [button]

  22. Dialog box will display the progress

  23. Progress dialog box will display the status

  24. IF the backup file exceeds the zip disk space, you will receive a message:

  25. Please insert another blank zip disk, OK [button]

  26. You may need to repeat Steps 23- until the backup completes

  27. Close [button] when backup has completed
