Mapping a Network Drive in Windows
aka "web drive" or "mapped drive"
In Windows 95
If the password to log onto your PC matches the password to log onto the web server, skip to #3.
1) Start [button], Shut Down [pop-up menu], Close All Programs…[option]
2) Log into Windows 95 with the web username and password provided
3) My Computer [icon] or Start [button], Programs [pop-up menu], Windows Explorer [icon]
4) Tools [menu], Map Network Drive [option]
a) Drive Letter – select drive letter W:
b) Path -- \\abac_web\username
c) Select “Reconnect at logon”
d) OK [button]
In Windows 98
If the password to log onto your PC matches the password to log onto the web server, skip to #3.
1) Start [button], Log off… [pop-up menu]
2) Log into Windows 98 with the web username and password provided
3) Right click My Computer [icon], Map Network Drive [option]
a) Drive Letter – select drive letter W:
b) Path -- \\abac_web\username
c) Select “Reconnect at logon”
d) OK [button]
1) Right click My Computer [icon], Map Network Drive [option]
a) Drive Letter – select drive letter W:
b) Folder -- \\abac_web\username
c) Select “Reconnect at logon”
d) Finish
e) Enter your web username and password
f) OK [button]
In Windows XP
1) Start [button], Programs [pop-up menu], Accessories [side menu], Windows Explorer [icon]
2) Tools [menu], Map Network Drive [option]
e) Drive Letter – select drive letter W:
f) Path -- \\abac_web\username
g) Select “Reconnect at logon”
h) Finish [button]
