Transfer files to a server using FTP

  1. Install WS-FTP if you do not have FTP already installed.
  2. Start [button]
  3. Programs [menu]
  4. WS_FTP [menu option]
  5. WS-FTP95 LE [submenu]
  6. Enter a "Profile Name" (e.g., ABAC Web Server) [text entry box]
  7. Enter a "Host Name/Address" (e.g., www.abac.edu) [text entry box]
  8. Select "Automatic detect" as Host Type [pull-down]
  9. Enter your "Userid" (e.g., apwillis) [text entry box]
  10. Enter your "Password" (e.g., ?????) [text entry box]
  11. OK [button]

  13. Left side displays your local PC and drives
  14. Right side displays the server to which you are connected
  15. Navigate on the left side to the drive/folder that contains the data you want to send to the server
  16. You can use the Up [green arrow] and/or ChgDir [button]
  17. Navigate on the right side to the location/folder on the server that you want your data to be sent
  18. You can use the Up [green arrow] and/or ChgDir [button] and/or MkDir [button]
  19. To send folder/files to your local PC, select the folder/files on the right, press the Left [arrow]
  20. To send folder/files to the server, select the folder/files on the the left, press the Right [arrow]
  21. When file transfer is completed, you can Close [button] to log out.
