ABAC STUDENTS ELECTED TO DISTRICT CIRCLE K POSITIONS

TIFTON – Scott Barron and Stacy Fountain, two students at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, were elected to District Circle K positions at the recent district convention.

Barron, an Agriculture Communications major from Woodstock, is the District Governor for the 2008-2009 year. He is not new to holding a district position, Barron started the 2007-2008 year as District Secretary and then became District Governor about half way through the year, when the District Governor stepped down.  Barron received a Georgia Leadership Medallion from Kiwanian Mick Maguire.

Fountain, the 2008-2009 District Secretary, is also familiar with holding a district office. She started the 2007-2008 Circle K year as District Treasurer and finished the year as District Treasurer and Secretary, filling Barron’s empty spot as Secretary after his new appointment. Fountain is an ABAC Information Technology major from Milledgeville.

Circle K is a co-educational service, leadership development, and friendship organization, organized and sponsored by a Kiwanis Club on a college or university campus. It is a self-governing organization and elects its own officers, conducts its own meetings, determines its own service activities, and establishes its own dues structure. Its Objects include the Objects of Kiwanis. Cathy Rogers is the advisor for the ABAC Circle K.
