TIFTON —One of
the top academic students from the Class of 2008 at
Marley Myers will receive the scholarship as the fifth highest academic student from Turner County High. The scholarship will cover all tuition and fees for two semesters.
The ABAC Foundation makes available on an annual basis full tuition scholarships to three of the top five graduates from high schools in Tift County, Colquitt County, Worth County, Cook County, Turner County, Fitzgerald, Irwin County, Berrien County, and Tiftarea Academy.

of this academic caliber could choose to go to a variety of different
colleges,” ABAC President David Bridges said. “For them to select ABAC is
just another reason why we are fast becoming
Betty McCorvey from the ABAC College Advancement Office said the scholarships are funded from proceeds from the Dollars for ABAC Scholars event. She said that annual fundraising event for the college has been moved to the fall this year from its usual spring date.
Myers was named Most Outstanding Senior Superlative, Most Athletic Senior favorite, and was crowned Homecoming Queen in 2007. She played varsity softball and tennis all four years of high school. In softball, she won best offensive/defensive player awards each year as well as receiving the first team all-region award. Myers was named MVP each year and played first team all-region in tennis. She received the Georgia Certificate of Merit, and honor and high honor awards. Myers was also a four-year member of FFA.
The application deadline for the fall semester at ABAC is Aug. 5. Classes begin Aug. 18.
