TIFTON —The
third honor graduate from
Third honor graduate Lora Ann Nichols has accepted the scholarship which will cover all tuition and fees for two semesters.
The ABAC Foundation makes available on an annual basis full tuition scholarships to three of the top five graduates from high schools in Tift County, Colquitt County, Worth County, Cook County, Turner County, Irwin County, Fitzgerald, Berrien County, and Tiftarea Academy.
“Students
of this academic caliber could choose to go to a variety of different
colleges,” ABAC President David Bridges said. “For them to select ABAC is
just another reason why we are fast becoming
Betty McCorvey from the ABAC College Advancement Office said the scholarships are funded from proceeds from the Dollars for ABAC Scholars event. She said that annual fundraising event for the college has been moved to the fall this year from its usual spring date.
Nichols was a member of the Academic Honor Roll and received departmental awards in Healthcare, Science, and Social Studies. She was also a member of the Beta Club for three years beginning in tenth grade.
The application deadline for the fall semester at ABAC is Aug. 5. Classes begin Aug. 18.
