Tom McCall
MCCALL NAMED DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS AT ABAC
TIFTON – Tom McCall of Elberton was named Distinguished Alumnus at
Born and raised on a farm in Elbert County, McCall graduated from Elbert County High School and went on to earn his ABAC degree in 1977 with an Associate of Science, followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy from the University of Georgia.
After graduating, McCall
returned to his hometown and began farming. He served on the State Farm Bureau
Board for over 12 years. He has a
first-hand understanding and appreciation for
He is a member of the Natural Resources and Environment, and the Transportation and Intragovernmental Coordination Committees. He is currently serving as Chairman for the Agriculture Committee. He is also a member of the Water Council and has been instrumental in working on the statewide water plan He has been recognized for his leadership by many groups, ranging from the Georgia Mining Association to the FFA, 4-H and Young Farmers. He received the Georgia Farm Bureau’s Outstanding Service to Agriculture Award in 2006.
McCall met his wife, Jane, at a Farm Bureau meeting. She teaches kindergarten and together they provide love and support to their two children.
