FITZGERALD RESIDENTS AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS AT ABAC
TIFTON— Micheal L. Barnes, Shannon D. Deese, Evan O. Durkovic, David D. Garrison, Paula M. Hurtado, Sandy D. McDuffie, Ryan W. Reese, Allison E. Tucker, and Sherry G. Walker of Fitzgerald were awarded scholarships at the recent Honors Day ceremony at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
The awards, provided through the ABAC Foundation, were based on a number of criteria such as leadership ability, character, academic excellence, and financial need.
Barnes, a biology and agriculture engineering transfer major; Deese, a fashion merchandising major; Garrison, a business administration transfer major; and Hurtado, a pre-medicine major, each received a $1,500 Allan and Lelia J. Garden Scholarship.
McDuffie, a computer science major, received a $1,200 Allan and Lelia J. Garden Scholarship. Durkovic, a political science major, received a $1,000 Vera Conger Smith Scholarship.
Reese, a political science major, received a $650 Frederick William Kinard Jr., Scholarship and Tucker, a pre-medicine major, received a $500 C.L. Morehead Scholarship. Walker, a nursing major, received a $1,000 Dr. Pattie Garrett Clark Memorial Scholarship.
