Local Dancers NEEDED FOR performance of Nutcracker

TIFTON – Auditions for local dancers to perform in “The Nutcracker” by the Charleston Ballet Theatre will be held on Oct. 12 from 6-8 p.m. at the Nickelodeon in the J. Lamar Branch Student Center on the campus of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

Sponsored by the ABAC Arts Connection, performances are set for Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Tift County High School. For more information, interested persons can call Polly Huff at the ABAC Arts Connection at (229) 391-4820.

Auditions will be held for the following positions: six or eight baby mice for children ages six and seven-years-old, 12 angels for children ages seven through 10-years-old, four pages for children ages seven and eight-years-old, 12 soldiers for teenagers, eight Mother Gingers for children ages nine through 13-years-old, 12 acrobatic jesters for children ages eight through 12-years-old, and 10 young boys over the age of seven.

There is an audition fee of $10 cash due at start of auditions. There is a $35 cash or check costume fee due Saturday at first rehearsal. Both fees are payable to the Charleston Ballet Theatre.
The first rehearsal will be held Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. –noon and 1-5 p.m. in the Nickelodeon. Rehearsals will begin with young boys, mice, angels and pages. The Saturday afternoon rehearsal will be Mother Gingers, soldiers and jesters. The next rehearsal will be held Oct. 14 from 1-5 p.m. in the Nickelodeon.
Rehearsals to be held between Oct. 14 and Nov. 30 are to be determined and will be announced on Oct. 14 after the completion of last rehearsal. If such rehearsals are scheduled, the fee will be $25. The dress rehearsal for the performances will take place on Nov. 30 at TCHS. Exact time for the rehearsal is to be announced.
