FIRST TUESDAY CONCERT AT ABAC APRIL 3

 

TIFTON – The First Tuesday Concert at Abraham Baldwin College on April 3 will feature The Marlene Bowen Group. The group is made up of Marlene Bowen- Thornton, mezzo-soprano; Kevin Bales on piano; Billy Thornton on bass; and Justin Barnes on drums.

The concert will take place at 7 p.m. in the ABAC Chapel of All Faiths. Tickets for the performance may be purchased at the door. The cost is $3 for adults and $1 for students. ABAC students are admitted free with ID. Patrons of the Arts and Entertainment Series can also attend at no charge.

The group will perform Blue Skies By Irving Berlin, It’s Only A Paper Moon and Let’s Fall in Love by Harold Arlen, Henry Mancini’s Moon River, Almost Like Being In Love by Lerner and Loewe, and other great jazz standards.

An art exhibit and refreshments will be held in the ABAC music building immediately after the concert.

The First Tuesday Concert Series takes place on the first Tuesday of each month.  This is the final concert in the series for the academic year.  The series will resume in September.  Dr. Susan Roe, assistant professor of voice at ABAC, directs the series.
