TIFTON—High school
student visitors at the annual Winter Open Campus Day on Feb. 6 at
ABAC Recruitment Coordinator Ali Csinos said the purpose of the Stallion Days event is to expose visitors to all sides of the college.
“One way we do that is to allow our visiting students a chance to enjoy a meal inside the Donaldson Dining Hall,” Csinos said. “We appreciate the support of the ABAC Foundation which allows us to do that.”
Registration for Open Campus Day begins at 9 a.m. in Gressette Gym. The gym floor will be covered with displays from all 55 programs of study at ABAC as well as exhibits from student organizations.
“Our student clubs really go all out to see who can put together the best display,” Csinos said. “The clubs usually have a lot of free giveaways as well.”
The high school students can also purchase ABAC merchandise from a special ABAC bookstore exhibit inside the gym. An ABAC souvenir cup will be included in their registration bag.
ABAC
Ambassadors will lead walking and driving tours of the campus for the visitors,
and Student Affairs Vice President Gail Dillard will offer a special look at
ABAC Lakeside, the new freshman housing complex which will be ready in August.
Admissions, financial aid, and housing personnel will share information throughout the morning in the gym until the exhibit area closes at 11:45 p.m. Visitors can take advantage of door prize drawings in the dining hall and hear the sounds of the ABAC Pep Band from 11:30 a.m. until noon.
One of the visiting high school seniors will also take home a $500 tuition grant for the 2007 fall semester at a drawing in the dining hall at 12:15 p.m. Stallion Days ends at 12:45 p.m.
Csinos said the event is not limited to high school seniors.
“If you are out of high school, and you want to look at ABAC up close and personal, this is the day to do it,” Csinos said.
