ABAC STUDENTS SELECTED FOR MUSIC CONVENTION

TIFTON--Fourteen students from Abraham Baldwin College were chosen to attend the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) Music Convention in Savannah on Jan. 25 - 27.

An All-College Band and an All-College Choir were part of the convention. ABAC students chosen to participate were first nominated by their college band and choral directors and then chosen from about 200 other nominees from around the state.

The All-Band participants are Stephanie Hunt of Tifton on clarinet and Evan Zebley of Moultrie on alto saxophone.

Students in the ABAC Concert Choir chosen to sing with the All-College Choir will include tenors Jake Alley from Lenox; Michael Hamilton from Tifton; and Joshua Harrell from Tifton. Altos are Tori Bozeman from Moultrie; Kelly Peele of Lenox; and Megan Pro of Tifton.

Willie Dean from Tifton and Perry Greer of Ocilla will sing bass for the event. Jasmine Richardson of Albany and Meg Vinnacombe from Douglas are sopranos. Savannah Rogers, a mezzo-soprano from Norman Park, and Tyler Yawn, a bass-baritone from Cordele complete the All-Choir participants.

The Music Convention, designed for music teachers and music majors, provides workshops that help participants teach music and also introduces them to new techniques that will enhance their ability to teach music.
