   MR. ABAC TO BE SELECTED FEBRUARY 15

TIFTON—Twenty-two men attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College will compete for the title of Mr. ABAC in the 17th annual competition on Feb. 15. The theme for this year’s event is “Fabulous Casino Night.” Sponsored, produced, and directed by the Family and Consumer Sciences Club, the event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Donaldson Dining Hall. The cost is $3 for general admission.

Contestants are sponsored by campus clubs, athletic teams, residence halls, and student media. They will compete in casual attire, formal attire, and interview categories. Contestants will also be judged on a written timed essay. The top contestant will receive a plaque and a cash prize. A contestant’s, interview, and essay award will be given. The Family and Consumer Sciences Club members will also choose “Mr. Photogenic,” “Best Eyes,” “Best Smile,” and other awards.

            Dotty Davis, from K-Country 104.5, and John Baldwin will emcee the event. Last year’s winner was Neal Torley, IV, a landscape design major from Orange Park, Fla.

            Students involved in this year’s competition include Jake Alley, a middle grades education major from Lenox.; Carson Barnett, a pre-dentistry major from Elberton; Scott Barron, an agricultural education major from Woodstock; Jason Bland, a forestry major from Sylvania; Jamie Brannen, an agriculture transfer major from Tifton; Geoffrey Brown, a family financial planning major from Eastonollee; Sam Burgess, a landscape architecture major from Resaca; Lee Busbee, an animal science major from Lizella; Brandon Coker, an agri-science and environmental systems major from Colbert; and Grayson Hall, an agriculture transfer major from Tifton.

            Also competing are Josh Harrell, a music major from Tifton; Garrett Hortman, an agriculture business transfer major from Coolidge; Ben Howard, a pre-dentistry major from Sycamore; Andrew Kalbfleisch, an undeclared major from Macon; Dan Pennington, Jr., an agriculture business transfer major from Madison; Thomas Purvis, a landscape design and grounds management major from Lake Park; and Miller Rambo, a golf turf management major from Cordele.


            Other contestants include Drew Rebuelta, an undecided major from Jackson; Jeremy Register, a forestry transfer major from Homerville; Andrew Ross, an agriculture and environmental sciences major from Wray; Gustavo Tovar, a landscape design major from Douglas; and Patrick Tully, a turf management major from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
