ABAC SOCCER FIELD DEDICATION AUGUST 28

 

TIFTON - The dedication ceremony for the new soccer field at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College will be held on Aug. 28 at 4:30 p.m. at the field, located on the south side of campus on Davis Road.  The soccer field complex actually includes the intercollegiate soccer field, a new athletics field which can be used for a soccer practice field, and a new intramural softball field.

“We’re very proud of our new field, and we can’t wait to get started,” ABAC Soccer Coach Jimmy Ballenger said.  “We had great support from our fans last year when we were playing off campus so we’re looking for even more support this year.”

The Fillies recorded a 9-5-1 record last year in their first year of competition.  Games were played at the E.B. Hamilton Complex.  This year all the home games will be played on the new field on the ABAC campus.

 

Ballenger’s team begins its season on the road Aug. 25 in Montgomery, Ala., against Huntingdon College.  The Fillies’ home opener with Georgia Military College follows the dedication ceremony on Aug. 28.  The Fillies will also play at home on Sept. 1 against defending national champion Young Harris.
