ABAC AG CLASSIC GOLF TOURNAMENT OCTOBER 8

TIFTON – The centennial edition of the Ag Classic Golf Tournament at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College will be held on Oct. 8 at ABAC’s Forest Lakes Golf Club. There will be an 8 a.m. morning flight and a 1 p.m. afternoon flight.

The event is sponsored by the ABAC Ag Alumni Council to provide scholarships for students in the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources. Proceeds from the six previous tournaments have provided over $105,000 in scholarships. Sponsorships are available on five levels.

The tournament is open to the first 100 golfers who register at a cost of $125 per person and $500 for a four-person team. The event is a four-man scramble. The fee includes lunch, cart and greens fees, golf shirt, towel and a sleeve of golf balls.

Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place teams in each flight. Prizes will also be awarded for the longest drive, hole-in-one, and closest shot to the pin on designated holes.

A silent auction will take place throughout the day. Items available for bid include outings to prestigious courses throughout the state, golf clubs and merchandise.
